# How does pumpfun generate revenue?

**1. Swap fees (1% per trade)**

Every token trade conducted on Pump.fun incurs a 1% fee—this has been the platform’s main income source.

Every buy or sell activity generates revenue for Pump.fun's team.

**2. Graduation fees (1.5 SOL per “graduation”)**

Tokens that “graduate” to external DEXs (e.g. Raydium/Orca) pay a fee of about 1.5 SOL when they graduate

**Revenue sharing**

50% of swap fees from a token go back to its creator (i.e. 0.5% of volume)

**When the Token graduates**

Once a coin “graduates” to PumpSwap (Pump.fun’s native DEX), swaps are charged at 0.30% total:

0.25% goes to liquidity providers,

0.05% goes to Pump.fun as protocol fee,

0.05% goes to the token’s creator
